Origin: Hebrew ( יוֹנָה )

Meaning: Hebrew form of Jonah meaning “dove”  ( יוֹנָה )

Spelled Yona, it becomes a word used in Ancient India (by the Pali and Prakrits) to refer to Greek speakers, (its analogue Yavana was used in Sanskrit) as well as being a transliteration for the Ionians

Yonina and Yonit are feminine forms of Yonah
