Meaning: composed from Greek elements lysis meaning “dissolution” and anthos meaning “flower” meaning “dissolution flower”.

The lisianthus is also known by the common name of Eustoma meaning “good mouth” from Greek eu “good, beautiful, well) and stoma “mouth”.

Lisiantha is the strictly feminine form of the name.
